Learn about PROESA
Our History
The Postgraduate Program in Nursing in Adult Health (PROESA) of the USP School of Nursing was created in 2000 from a merger of the “Fundamentals of Nursing” and “Nursing of Institutionalized Adult Health” concentration areas, previously belonging to the Postgraduate Program in Nursing of the University of São Paulo School of Nursing (EEUSP).
PROESA’s core focus is to develop studies on advanced nursing care models and practices. PROESA’s Master’s and Doctorate courses are recommended and recognized by CAPES with a score of 7.
PROESA’s mission is to train human resources of excellence in research at the Academic Master’s (MA), Academic Doctorate (DO) and Post-Doctorate (Pos-Doc) levels by training nurses and other health professionals for knowledge production, scientific updating and improvement in care technology processes within the scope of Nursing in Adult Health, integrating nursing science knowledge with that of other disciplines. Graduates are expected to be capable of driving research, education and care in advanced clinical practices, within the legal and ethical scope of the profession.
- to produce innovative and rigorously constructed knowledge, respecting ethical aspects;
- to train human resource leaders with critical-reflective skills to promote educational interventions, linked to the needs of higher education in nursing;
- develop behaviors of continuous scientific updating and constant improvement in care technologies.
